Akumal Mexico is a beautiful and relaxing place to have your vacation. The gorgeous beaches, great attractions, a laid-back atmosphere, and amazing local cuisine of Akumal will make you wish you never had to leave! Owners Sam and Marian, Anthony and Joan, and Kathy fell in love with the area and vacationed there for over 20 years. Together with Pio, their local friend and partner, they choose to build Amanecer Akumal for their future retirement pleasure.

In Akumal, you will find many affordable excellent restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, an open-air market, a taxi stand, and a variety small shops. There is also a gym which offers yoga classes. An extraordinary artist consortium and locally made ice cream, are all within walking distance of Amanecer Akumal! Scuba lessons and spectacular dives are available from three local shops. The ruins of Tulum and Coba are also just a short drive (20-40 minutes) away.

Akumal Fishing Center – Let Pio and his crew take you on a deep-sea fishing adventure.
La Cueva del Pescador– Right at the entrance to town, bring your fresh caught fish for them to cook for you, or select something from their fresh and delicious cuisine. Order a pitcher of margaritas to share!
La Lunita – Spend a romantic evening dining on the beach, just a 5 minute walk from Amanecer Akumal. Their menu features contemporary cuisine. Reservation recommended.
Turtle Bay Cafe – The best breakfast spot in Akumal. Located next to Pescador, start your day right with a delicious breakfast including fresh baked goods and beautiful fruit plates. Try the Crab Cakes Benedict!
Lol-Ha –Located right on Akumal Bay, walk out of the ocean to the Lol-Ha Beach Bar and enjoy something to eat and drink. If you are looking for something more upscale, visit the Lol-Ha Restaurant.
La Buena Vida –Waste the day away with your feet in the sand or on one of the bar swings. Located on the beach of Half Moon Bay and just a 10 minute walk from Amanecer Akumal, their diverse menu and bar will keep you coming back.
Snorkeling Tour –See Akumal from under the water! Sea turtles abound along with a variety of colorful fish and coral in Akumal Bay.
Akumal EcoCenter –Visit the EcoCenter to learn more about the ecology and sea life of the Akumal area.
Artist’s Consortium – Enjoy artistic creations of every variety developed by artists living in the Akumal area.
Yal-ku Lagoon – Just a 5 minute walk from Amanecer Akumal is the Riviera Maya’s famous Yal-ku Lagoon. Exceptional snorkeling with thousands of small fish in a clear, calm lagoon.
La Taverna Italian Restaurant – Excellent and upscale Italian Grill,Wood Oven, and Bar, on second floor just behind the “Arch”.
